Play therapy is a therapeutic approach for children that uses play, toys, creative tools, and sand tray work to help children express feelings and experiences they may not have words for.
It is evidence-based and focuses on the child’s emotional growth and wellbeing in a safe, supportive space.
Play therapy can support children in:
- Understanding and expressing emotions
- Developing coping skills for stress or anxiety
- Building confidence and self-esteem
- Navigating life challenges, such as family changes, school issues, loss, or separation
- Supporting neurodivergent children (ASD, ADHD)
